Being a mechanic isn’t for everyone. For Victor Ni, servicing the same engines, dealing with the same parts and performing the same duties with almost no one to interact with had begun to take its toll. So when his uncle sponsored him to emigrate from China to Canada, Victor saw it as an opportunity to do something else in life. “I wanted better opportunities, more freedom, a happier life and better education for the kids,” recalls Victor. “And getting a new job where I could interact with people - where everyday is different - that was a great bonus.”
“I had been cooking Chinese and Mongolian food since I arrived here in 2008 and, because I wanted my own business, I decided to look for something in the food industry,” Victor says. “I did the research into which businesses were selling and which ones had a good reputation. I found Tropicana Pizza and saw that it had a lot of potential so I took over from the last owner in 2012.”
Since Victor took the reigns of Tropicana, review aggregate websites have consistently given the restaurant great ratings. “It’s a great feeling to cook good food and be complimented by the customer when they come back,” says Victor.
l have never hadva problem with the place. I have tried most of the menu over the years, and it is all good. Best to get pickup if you are scared of bad orders anyway - See before you pay.
I was ripped off by this place badly as I ordered 2 medium pizzas and I ly received one. Called the restaurant and said I was missing a pizza and had the receipt in my hand, the guy on the phone tried to say I was wrong. The pizza was also not what I ordered. I will never, ever waste a cent on this place again
