The Oak has a nice cheerful and friendly atmosphere. We go there each week and it's always a pleasure. The prices are good and so is the food and they have an excellent selection of beers on tap. I particularly enjoy the Steak and Mushroom pie which has good quality pieces of beef, not chopped meat as I have found in some other pubs.

I hate to do this to a place I used to go to on a regular basis but this place has turned into a real dive. The service staff is awful, the food is never consistent and overall not a great place to be in. From breakfast to dinner you never know if you will be treated with a smile or someone who is miserable. Trying to get a refill on coffee or pop is near to impossible. Save your money and you'd probably have better luck at another establishment.

In all my years, without any exageration, I have never had food this bad. My wife and I ordered 2 Thai salads for starters and 2 Lamb Vindaloos as the main course. The salads were paltry and the Vindaloos were completely unedible. We decided to try something safe; Fish & Chips. We received unrefridgerated Slaw, wrinkled peas and very, very greasy fish. The service was lousy. We recieved a half hearted apology for that. It was the waitress first day on the job. We also got a weak apology for the bad food. It was the Cooks first day as well we were told. Along with the wine it cost me $94.54 for an upset stomach well into the next day. If there were ratings of zero, that is what I would render.
