With over 25 applications received for our Day at the Races Fundraising events, Management is diligently working on putting together a schedule for the 2025 season. Only 15 race dates are available to host fundraisers during the season. Opening Day is set for Sunday, May 18 and the season will run through the entirety of summer, closing out the season on Sunday, August 31.

After more than five decades as Huron’s home for harness racing, the grandstand at Clinton Raceway is due for a major upgrade this fall. 

Known as one of Ontario’s grassroots jewels, the site features live harness racing, a casino and simulcast race coverage as well as a nearby playground and skatepark. Adding a modern 400-person grandstand will enhance the experience and ensure harness racing continues to be a cherished part of the sports landscape in Huron County and beyond. 

Clinton ON. - Perhaps it’s the longer days, the low setting sun, the smell of fresh cut grass or the feel of the warm breeze that remind you summer is just around the corner. For many that reside in the quaint, Southern Ontario town of Clinton, it’s the sound of thundering hooves, the echo of the announcer spanning across the ½ mile track and the resounding cheers at the finish line as the longshot surges at the wire. 

It has already been a successful season at Clinton Raceway, but the track still has some major unfinished business before it closes out the 2022 season on Labour Day Weekend. On Sunday, Sept. 4, the track will play host to the 42nd edition of its annual Charity Drivers Challenge. The event — which has raised some $343,000 for various local charities in its history — pits the top four local drivers against four top reinsmen from the nation’s top Woodbine Mohawk Park circuit.

Power And Grace completed the sweep of the Clinton Raceway signature trots by capturing the Seventh-Annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot on Sunday (Aug. 7) in track-record fashion.

Clinton Raceway is set to kick off its ninth card of racing in the 2022 season, and they are bringing back a fan favourite attraction. The Super Sunday show returns to the Huron County oval this Sunday (July 24th) with fan’s favourite track side games.

Fans were treated to a great day of racing action and giveaways at Clinton Raceway on Sunday (July 17) for Fan Appreciation Day. A large crowd of almost 1,000 people gathered at the Huron County oval to receive a well deserved thank you for supporting the racetrack every season for the last 52 years.

After two eliminations for the 2022 Kin Pace, a stellar field of eight Ontario-sired three-year-old fillies have emerged to battle for the lion’s share of $50,500 on Sunday (July 3) at Clinton Raceway.

Ontario-sired three-year-old pacing fillies faced off in two Kin Pace eliminations on a scorching Sunday afternoon (June 26) at Clinton Raceway. Trainer Nick Gallucci swept both $7,500 eliminations with heavy favourites Velvet Stinger and Raptors Won, securing favourable post draws in the $50,500 final.

The 14th edition of Clinton Raceway’s major stake, the Kin Pace, gets underway this Sunday (June 26th) with two eliminations for the $50,000 final. The Kin Pace pays homage to the early days of Clinton Raceway when the Kinsmen and Kinette Club introduced pari-mutuel wagering to the grassroots track in 1970.

Carl Jamieson will line up behind the gate with fellow legends for this Sunday’s $15,000 Legends Day Trot. Driver Wally Hennessey is a late scratch due to travel issues, so he will be replaced by fellow maritimer Carl Jamieson.

All eyes will be on Clinton Raceway as it plays host to its 11th biennial Legends Day event on June 12. Since its inception in 2001, the signature event — featuring Hall of Fame drivers — has helped raise over $260,000 for the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation. In 2015, the rural Ontario oval introduced an online auction as part of the fundraising initiatives.
