Like any little girl with a long-haired Barbie, the temptation was irresistible. Armed with a pair of scissors, Ramona Bobariu practiced the fine art of hairdressing on her dolls.
When her sister was born, she graduated from taming her toy's tresses to styling her sibling's wispy soft locks. More than 25 years later, Ramona is still styling her sister's hair, albeit professionally.
Licensed in 1999, it's clear why Ramona has acquired a loyal following over the years. Her longest client (her sister notwithstanding), has been coming to her for 14 years and knows what countless other satisfied clients know; you can trust Ramona with your crown of glory. Her patience and skillful art of listening to her client's needs is as welcomed to the process as it is to the outcome.
Armed with a positive outlook (her optimistic disposition considers every day above ground a good day), a hard work ethic, and steely determination, Ramona opened Studio 22 Hair Lounge in North Burnaby with long-time friend and stylist Adrienne Bunsanor.
Not only does Ramona's passion shine through in her creative styling and commitment to her clients, but also, the studio's branding speaks to the same love. Their logo incorporates the number 22, which of course denotes the building's unit, but ingeniously, one numeral backwards, one frontwards, conjoins to make a heart.
