After spending years honing his culinary talents at bakeries and restaurants around the world, pastry chef Stephan Schigas returned to his hometown of Langley in 2014 to open his very own bakery. Today, his passion for creating artisanal baked goods prepared with high quality ingredients has made the selection at Blacksmith Bakery that much sweeter.

His many years spent opening restaurants and working in the food industry abroad taught Stephan the value of great ingredients, and he's brought that knowledge and spirit to his hometown bakery. The accomplished baker always makes sure to do things the right way, even if that means there’s much more time and energy required. "Everything is made by hand, from scratch from local quality ingredients," he explains. “We don't use any preservatives; we don't use any margarines; we don't use any shortening."
