Fabulous meal ! Owner and waitress were so hospitable. They both delivered food to our table and were very passionate about the food they were serving us.
From our experience we found the Wine & sparking water to be reasonably priced. We had the vapolicella wine which was $47 a bottle Not cheap but not expensive. Significantly better than Kamoosh in Waterdown, food wise and for price of wine. You can find bottle of wine for $40. Vs $21 a glass !

The pasta dishes are excellent. Place has been newly decorated and cleaned up. It is a cafe with friendly service, great food and totally relaxed atmosphere. If you want to spend more money go elsewhere. It is totally excellent for what it is. "A pasta Cafe"
This is by far the best Italian restaurant! I have eaten in the best Italian restaurants in the GTA and none compares! We moved to Waterdown a few months ago and we are addicted! It’s not just the wholesome Italian food (all made from scratch) It’s the ambiance, the service and the entire experience. It’s difficult for any restaurant to have consistency. It’s just the nature of the food business. This restaurant has consistency, aside from everything else. It’s a winner!!
I had pasta with asparagus and zucchini and was hard pressed to find either in the pasta was used very minimally. Did not get value for the price here. The salad dressing on the greens not as good as I remember. Bread was not fresh tasted old.
I decided I wanted to try something new for my birthday dinner.
Made a reservation - yes they do take them.
We enjoyed our entire meal. Just the right amount of spacing from receiving our drinks, to receiving our apps. I had the Eggplant Parm.....piping hot and crisp, served with a fresh cold tomato sauce - perfect balance. My husband had the Scallop and Shrimp Aglio e Olio.....one of the best sauces I have ever tasted. The pieces of seafood were big - and cooked to perfection.
Again....a nice break until our next course. The entrees come with salad and a bread basket.....we used the bread to sop up the rest of the sauce.....house salad has a wonderful dressing..and a very large crisp plate of greens. My only regret is that I could not finish it because I still had my main meal coming.
Again.....perfect spacing until our mains arrived.
I chose the Fettucini Carbonara.....out of this world - YUM. It was easy to see that the Chef made it to order.....pasta was al dente and even though there was a ton of bacon in the dish.....the sauce did not pick up the saltiness......my hubby had Penne Alla Gina.....he loved loved loved it.
We did not tell our server it was my birthday until the end of the meal. As soon as we told her....she ran off and came back with a gift certificate for our next visit.
We made a point of telling the Chef how much we enjoyed our meal. One guy in the kitchen - cooking fantastic food. No wonder it is so packed in the dining room with people popping in and out for take out.
We will be back soon....and often.
It was alright. Probably wouldn't go back again. Food was nothing special though there was lot's on the menu. Service was great. We had wine. Disappointed they don't take American Express.
Why bother, my husband and I have tried to go a number of times, but unless you have a party of 6 you can't make reservations. Why bother! The last time we went the kitchen staff was noisy and dropped pasta sauce all over the kitchen and didn't even bother to clean it up. We also ordered the pasta with the pesto sauce, and no pine nuts!!!!! They said they were too expensive.... come on! What would a tbsp cost really!!!!!
Have been here several times and have not had a bad meal yet. I have had something different every tie and have enjoyed it all. Food is excellent and portions are generous. Entrees come with salad and fresh bread is on the table. It may be lacking in atmosphere, but the food and service highly make up for it. You will enjoy your meal and will not be disappointed! One of my favourite places to eat.
My boyfriend and I visited Marciano's for our first date and have gone back several times. Staff is great and the food is even better, with a very nice wine selection. Would and have recommened this restaurant to all my friends.
First time at the Waterdown location. Pasta was great..no need to order appetizer as you get a salad and fresh bread prior to the meal. Caesar salad was okay not worth the $3 extra dollars, boxed croutons and bottled sauce. Wine list was resonable. Service was attentive.
Only downfalls:
place is a dump, clean but dumpy, washrooms are bad, servers although attentive, chomping on gum the entire time, another larger guy came in as server/host wearing crocs, chef wearing shorts, just seemed unprofessional. Will be back for the pasta!!
Food was yummy and portions were quite generous. The sauces are amazing! Great menu, everything sounded great - it was hard to narrow down the choices. Service was attentive and prompt.
Super yummy, fast service, good value, the place needs a bit of a face lift but the food is well worth it, been a couple times now, and food is very consistent.
Made a reservation a month ago. Went in at the specific time and was told they did not have our reservation. It appears they confused ours with another or completely didnt write this in. Not apologetic in the least nor tried to accomodate us. Would never recommend this place.
We are frequent visitors to Marciano's Pasta Cafe. We absolutely love the food and the people. The team that owns/works there are truly fantastic and make your visit enjoyable. The food is always amazing, hot and cooked to perfection. Marciano's house salad is one of my favourites.
visited marciano for the first time: was seated by the host in a seperate area off the main dining room although there were empty tables. this may have been for we looked asian. diners coming in afterwards were seated at the empty table.....
if the management and staff discrimate in their thinking then i might conclude that this type of thinking filters down to cleanliness, cooking methods and food supply selection. it may not be the best but use, buy and cook in the cheapest way possible.
Marcianos always offers good food and friendly service. The staff enjoys themselves and in turn, so do their customers. They always remember you and make you feel important --- and they do this with everyone who comes in. The lady complaining about service was either in the wrong restaurant or is exaggerating. In many visit over the years, we have never had to wait an hour and a half for service - that comment sounds fishy.
