I go every week. Because the food is excellent ,fresh, well made and served by the nicest group of people you will ever meet. Please try it and don't listen to others .Try it for yourself you will not be disappointed.
I went to this restaurant last Thursday for dinner. There were two of us and another couple in the restaurant. Our server did not explain anything about the menu or how to order. She brought us the wrong dishes and then argued with us about it, the food was bland and it was very overpriced. Would never return or recommend to anyone. There are much better places in London like Wonder Sushi or 123 Sushi to go to. Save your money.
Went here for lunch with some buddies. I was kind of scared trying a new sushi place, but it was off a recommendation of a friend. The place looked newly renovated and the wait staff were delightful (Shadow - cool name!). All the food was great! The place wasn't busy and it was clean. Food tasted fresh and nicely presented. Gotta love the free green tea too!
Not a bad place for all you can eat - HOWEVER, they often didn't bring things that we ordered and at one point I watched them walk around to every table with my soup and eventually just gave it to a customer who said she would eat it. Doesn't seem like a very great system in that regard. This is the third time I went and they atmosphere had changed but it was a bit of an upgrade. The mussels on this round seemed bad though. They smelled and tasted very fishy and it was hard to keep them down. Other than that, everything else was delicious and the service was great.
I've been here a couple of times, not the best I've had but the food is adequate, and consistent. I went for lunch with my friend and unfortunately there was no sashimi offered for the all you can eat. (unless I missed it) It's understandable, because sashimi is more expensive for the restaurant to buy, but I was disappointed. The special sushi pizza was good, just enough heat and not overwhelming. When we entered, there were only 3 tables on a Friday, which led to the great, polite service. I noticed the waitress's cool name on the bill, Shadow. The bill came to around 15 dollars with tax. and service charge was not included, which I was pleasantly surprised. From the outside, it doesn't even look like a restaurant, but give this place a try, its not bad.
So we wanted to try a new sushi place in London and GREATLY regreted our decision after walking in the door. It smelled like an old folks home (like moth balls) which is NOT a nice smell at a sushi place or anywhere for that matter. That aside we ordered our food and were so grossed out by the flavour and general overall taste of the sushi we hid 8 pieces in my purse so we didn't have to pay EXTRA for terrible sushi. We didn't even get any dessert, it was THAT bad. NEVER EVER returning. Didn't even ask us how our meal was at the end. WORST SUSHI WE"VE EVER HAD!! Stay away
I am a regular patron at conception and I will continue to be. There quality of fish is wonderful ... I have eaten at many all you can eat sushi restaurants and this restaurant is definitely one of my favorites in London... Fast and friendly service every time we go, if you like a quiet atmosphere I would have your visit on a week night :)
We've been to conception sushi a few times now -- food was good and fresh, but, much like any ayce sushi place, you don't get about 10% of what you order. Last night was different...... we placed and order and truly only received about half of it -- she told us we were done what we had ordered and we told her what about this and that -- she looked confused. we said, never mind, and just went on to order another round. a few of these dishes came out and then we just sat there. the waitress came again said we were all done and we told her we were still waiting for our last order to arrive! it was frustrating to say the least. Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon. we'll see.
so it is fair to say that I truly appreciate good service. And I have not yet experienced that at Conception Sushi. The first time I went, my boyfriend and I ordered the all-you-can-eat dinner, and one waitress stood about five feet away from our table and watched us eat the entire time. When we pushed our edamame to the side of our table once our actual sushi came, at least three servers asked if they could take it away. We had complete intention to finish them, but my boyfriend just got so frustrated that he told them to just take the edamame away. When we got our bill, I saw that they had charged us five dollars for them. While I completely agree that people should have to pay for the food they don't finish (since it is not like a buffet, the chefs have made the sushi to your order), they should not have insisted to remove food from our table. My boyfriend really liked the food, so we decided to return tonight. This time, we were completely ignored. First we asked for menus, not wanting to pay for the uneaten food like last time. Then once we decided on what we wanted to have, our menus sat in front of us until I waved and smiled at a baby a few tables over, and the waitress thought that this gesture was for her. Our sushi was brought fairly quickly, but my dish was missing the soup and salad that was promised on the menu. Once we finished, our empty plates also sat in front of us for quite a long period of time. We stood up, getting frustrated and wanting to leave. Finally the waitress saw us standing and came and asked if the bill was together or separate. We told her, and sat down again, assuming she would bring it to us. She didn't. Instead, she brought food and drinks and talked animatedly to the table next to us, acting as though we didn't exist. Good service is not hard to do.
