I dropped by Henry's because: 1) I heard that they have poutine, 2) it's really nearby, and 3) I was PMS'g.
After I pulled in, saw the poutine prices (quite reasonable - $2.50 for a small), I decided to order a piece of fish as well. I felt ridiculous ordering a $2.50 poutine and just driving off!
Although it may suffice in a jam, the poutine was NOT made with cheese curds. (I think it was just pieces of mozzarella or something else that didn't squeak!) The fries were from frozen, but whatelse do you expect from a chip shop?
The decor was straight outta the '70s, old school gumball machines, big floral wallpaper, orange 'n brown all over with faux wood paneling. There were fish-related puns posted up which made things quaint.
It made it especially interesting because it was a Chinese lady (with accent) who owned the place. Despite these "quaint" details, the place could use a facelift!
I did takeout 'cause it really didn't look like an eat-in. The fish was alright. The poutine again was okay, to try and beat the craving, but again, it wasn't made with curds &/or fresh cut fries.
I have been to Henrys many many times...and I LOVE their poutine. Their poutine is the BEST in Mississauga. I have tried many other places that sells poutine but none does it like Henrys. The owner is very friendly and portions are huge. It iss so good it makes me wish that I just live across the street so I can eat poutine everyday!

This place rocks, we got so full but had to keep eating as it was sooo good. The best poutine you will ever have. The owners have done a great job with the store and it has a old 50s feel to it. I highly recommend Henrys.
