Simply AMAZING!!! Ive lived in Sudbury for over 20 years and had never been to Apollo until recently. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Toula during a business meeting, what a wonderful talented woman! Not only was my lunch special to die for, she also now has a food market with all her homemade food! You have to try the stuffed olives :)

Well had a mediocre experience - first time - went back and it was terrible hosts were rude- food is awful- the staff last time made me try again- horrible service made me realize how dirty and outdated the restaurant seemed/ cluttered and just depressing- food was terrible- I guess the service last made the food taste better - would never return or recommend - better Greek food available at all mall-
The over all experience was a disappointment, my wife and I went there for our anniversary. To start off first impressions, restaurant itself is very outdated and feels very cluttered. When you look at the menu and see seasonal vegetables do not think somewhat fresh in season veggies they are obvious frozen and over steamed/cooked vegetables with no taste that you can easily turn into paste for a young baby with a no effort squeeze of the fork (would recommend these veggies if you bring your infant), after my complaint they replaced my veggies with the same frozen junk. I ordered the Poseidon platter 40$ the lobster tail over cooked and rough. My scallops were very rubbery once complained and replaces they looked good but the centre were still frozen (a 40$ platter with frozen seafood in my opinion at this price of dinning should be fresh unfrozen foods) the rest of the platter was in acceptable but not spectacular. Spent 90$ on 2 entrées and 1 appetizer and will never again come to this location someone would have to pay my meal for me to try this place again.
The service was exceptional. From beginning to end- mind you it was Christmas- and everyone seemed happy- staff and customers. Salad was over priced and salty, bread was not good, veggies were frozen, steak was tough- but I love my steak like that. So I was happy- food was mediocre. The night was pleasant and the service and atmosphere was what saved the evening. If the prices were lower for what they serve- I think I would go back .
This restaurant is very traditional with delicious food. The Saganaki is fantastic and the portion sizes are large. Service was great and you can tell the reason they've been in business for 40 years. I had some other appetizers and all the food tasted great. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a casual night or a special occasion.
We made reservations for eight celebrating my inlaws anniversary. It was my mother-in-law's favorite place to go for comfort, hospitality and taste. It did not disappoint - Thanks Tuula!
We arrived late for a reservation and were told so by the curt and rude hostess. The place was almost empty, and we were informed that they would close in one and a quarter hours. We decided to order only appetizers. The calamari were not fresh, but of the frozen variety. Same for the dolmathes, right out of a can. This could easily be seen by the square shape of them by being packed in the tin. The dips too were premade. We asked for extra pita bread and were charged almost 2$ for one piece cut into 8 triangles.The salads were dressed, messily, by bottled dressing. At, $12 a bowl, grossly overpriced. The only `good`appetizer was the spanokopita. But again, the pieces were quite small to justify the $8 price. We had to send back one of the desserts, greek custard pie, because it was very dry and stale looking. The baclava was good, but again, by it`s looks came from somewhere else. We were told the owners were Greek, but we really wondered because of the low quality of the food. Also, some in our party were Greek and asked to speak to the owner who never materialised. We notice the lights being turned off and were told that the restaurant was closing. So much for the sign outside that says `we don`t close until the OUZO runs out. When we asked the hostess about this she remarked sharply that the OUZO had run out. I will never visit this restaurant again. The final bill was for well over $300, and certainly not worth it. Next time I will go to the grocery store and pick up these same food items and prepare them myself for a fraction of the price.

Haven't been back in a very long time and was plesantly surprised. Overall a nice evening and would consider this again in future. Pros: Best garlic bread and Caesar salad (very strong garlic flavour) as always. Very nice atmosphere for quite dinner and service was excellent. Overall good flavour and generally good value, side dishes were a quite tasty as was the Baklava. The Greek sampler as a meal choice is a great option. Cons: The wine selection is very limited/poor, lamb was overdone and a quite tough, would not recommend the Greek cheese appetizer; although the presentation with the flambe cheese with ozo was fun the dish itself was mediocre/plain.
The food was spectacular and the service was great. Toula Sakellaris is running a great restaurant. I was seated quickly by a great hostess who has been there forever. I also think the restaurant has kept up to its great standards following the death of George Sakellaris the owner, and that this is the best Restaurant in Sudbury.
I had the Greek Salad, and my date had the Pasta Salad. The service was professional, friendly and fast. The food was superb and fresh; pasta was hot, salad was crisp. The interior was tastfully decoracted and the prices were fair.
It was great. I will be going there again very soon! Chicken in the club was Delicious.
The food was ok, the platter for two had calamari, pork souvlaki, moussaka, spanokpita, potatoes and rice on it. Don’t bother with the calamari unless you like the generic frozen over-breaded supermarket low-grade calamari. I expected real calamari from a Greek restaurant. The pork souvlaki was awesome. The spanokpita was served slightly burnt and the moussaka was lukewarm in terms of temperature. The waitress was pleasant and desert was great. I felt the food was overpriced for what we got. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the music was not bad, well until Kenny G came on at which point I was eating delicious Baklava and it helped to block out Kenny. At first I thought my expectations were too high as I have been to Greece and have many Greek friends but other Greek restaurants in Canada and the USA have been able to live up to the real thing.
Only the spanakopita was any good and at that it was just good. The souvlaki was over cooked and under seasoned, to the point it was almost inedible. The rice was bland the potatoes mushy. The greek salad could have come from any super market deli counter. The service was horrible. I asked for a refill of my water glass and never got it. the head waitress spent 5 mins yellung at our waiter because he complained that the kitchen staff had given him half of his appetizers for two different tables. She then scolded a customer whose cell phone rang, however she scolded the wrong man at the wrong table. The electricity kept shorting out and all the lights flickered. Too many tables in the small restaurant my chair was pressed against another guests chair this was the case for nearly all the tables. And the restaurants phone has been disconnected. So you cant call ahead for a reservation. Overall give this place a wide pass. By the way I was a loyal customer 20 years ago. Its a shame this place has gone so far down hill.
For lunch, this place is really slow with their service. The chicken was good, but the veggies weren't. You don't get the value of what we paid for. For the softdrinks, they overcharge. They give you a very very small glass for the drink and they charge you per glass-- more than $4 for 2 glasses of small pop. We didn't finish our plates because we didn't enjoy it. I don't think this restaurant is for younger generation. I love greek food that's why I went to this restaurant, but didn't get what I was expecting.
Excellent service from the minute we stepped into this quiet elegant establishment . Able to enjoy our food and have a dinner conversation without a rushed feeling. Food presentation and taste were excellent. Would definetly return on my next visit to Sudbury.
The Apollo is arguably the best restaurant in Sudbury. If pressed to describe the service and cuisine of this restaurant in a single phrase, I would say "consistently good." We dine here often. The table service is always prompt, friendly, and courteous. The food is always delicious,and the portions are always generous. The dining room and kitchen staff are a capable and professional team. Our meals arrive at the table simultaneously, special requests and instructions have not been forgotten. As one course finishes, the next arrives in a timely fashion. Courses do not "pile up" on top of one another. We don't feel jammed or rushed during our meal. The menu is mainly Greek cuisine featuring souvlaki, moussaka, and lamb. Do try the flaming Saganaki cheese with Ouzo. What a spectacular way to begin a night of great dining!
Best roasted patatoes i've ever had. Souvalaki was to die for. Outstanding Mousaka. The atmosphere was great. Definitely will be returning to this establishment. Best greek food in Sudbury hands down.
