If you have British roots and long for a taste of home, you don’t have to fly back to Jolly Old England, you can simply visit Simply British Foods in Whitby. Opened by Paul Million in 2007 as an online store, the repository for all things UK and delicious, especially if you have a sweet tooth, branched out into bricks and mortar in 2013. Today, both the cyber and outlet stores are flourishing, with Paul sending goodies to customers as far as the Great White North — literally. “I have customers all over Canada — even up in the North West Territories! Most are British ex-pats of course, but not solely. Plenty of Canadians like British sweets because the UK has a reputation for good taste in fashion, music and food,” says Paul.
