Weil Antiquaire is an antique shop specializing in French furniture and quality decorative objects from the 17th to 20th century. Owner Jean-Louis Weil explains, “We're known as the little Versailles in Montreal because our selection of marquetry, golden chandeliers, and crystal mirrors is impressive. It's a well-organized space, not a tangled mess of objects, because we want to showcase our merchandise."
Jean-Louis is the third generation of antique dealers in his family; his grandfather and his father also made a career in this field. Freddy, Jean-Louis' father, launched the shop in Montreal in 1988 and his son took over in 1995. “I was born in a Louis XV commode. From an early age, I learned a lot about the merchandise, furniture and decorating. Today, I bring to the company a modern touch in its approach and its decoration,” says Jean-Louis.
