My boyfriend had planned a surprise birthday party at Kamasutra. I showed up at the restaurant thinking I was in for a quiet dinner with him, but he had my friends & family waiting at the restaurant without my knowing. Service & the food was fantastic. This is a low lit, romantic, swish place. Not too big, and sometimes not too busy due to its location I think. But its a secret that a few people I have met RAVE about. We went to a late dinner (girls night out). Our server was great super nice. The belly dancers we awesome!!! They pulled us onto the dance floor with them, It was a good entertaining night in the city. Mind you the food was only Good for the price $$$$ 65 dollars just for me and I had no drinks with that:( big time downer. Atmosphere was great though. Big bench like table areas with pillows. Nice! I love beer and I love a long list of options recited to me by memory... there seem to be so many negative reviews about the Bier Markt but... it's a pub, really, and a spacious, respectable one with Great Beer at that. I was at the Esplanade location last Friday afternoon around 4pm with my husband and some friends and we had a fantastic time drinking pints of Steigl, Erdinger weissbrau, Jupiler, and sharing fondue--wish there was a ski hill nearby. I've been here often, mainly for the beer, but last Friday the atmosphere was great, really quiet and just right for a late lunch. I wish the decor was a little cozier inside. Lire plus

Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Lire plus
