This Mandarin is still pretty new and clean inside so that is definately a big plus if cleaniness is important to you. The food selection is pretty good and some dishes are actually pretty good. Congee is absolutely amazing! It's the best I've had. Noodles are cooked amazingly and perfectly with the perfect amount of sauce... Fried Rice was also very nicely cooked. The food there will always be amazing... The owners there constantly keep an eye on the chef. They can smell any imperfections in your dish (eg. more wine, more sauce, etc). For 10$ a person excluding taxes, you get authentic asian style soup (NOT cream of corn or vegetable soup), starter salad, main course, authentic asian dessert (none of that green tea ice cream stuff) AND a large bubble tea drink. The seats and tables are spacious and comfy, the place is ALWAYS clean, the decor is VERY nice, the place doesn't look sketch at all. I was looking for one of the new places to try north of 7, and came across this restaurant. They have very little parking out front, perhaps more behind - or if you want to park across the street and brave the insane driveway, there's more parking there. I am occidental - and was the only one here, which is a relatively good sign. The food arrived super hot but took longer than it does in some nearby Dim Sum places. The delivery people were very clean and well dressed which was pleasing. I was given really nice Jasmine tea when I sat down - but was charged $1 for it....I don't mind, but I've not been charged for tea before (I think of it as water...perhaps it's a Dim Sum thing). The shrimp dumplings had good firm shrimp, with nice flavour, as did the steamed rice noodles. I should have gotten a veg dish but didn't want to overeat. The mango pudding presentation was very nice - a heart form with nice cream / sweetened condensed milk. I'll probably try it again - but felt a bit out of place. Lire plus

While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day. Lire plus

The food was excellent. Absolutely no complaints about the food. Loved the food. My complaint about this restaurant is its size and decor. We went for lunch on a weekend and there were a lot of customers. The restaurant felt too small and needed a bigger room. The tables and chairs were uncomfortable, especially the design of the chairs. The tables were crowded close together so it felt claustrophobic. Maybe try to get a more comfortable booth near the window. The food is good and that's probably why there are many customers in that medium-small room. Lire plus

Service was pretty good considering we were eating in an asian establishment. Tea was topped up, food was replenished quickly, and the side dishes kept coming. I didn't use their washroom but the location is accessible by TTC or Car. Nice spacious dining area and it was clean. I liked how food was coming non-stop. We had so much food that night - great bang for our buck. Although the taste of the food was a little bland (compared to other Korean BBQ places), the side dishes made up for it. nice decor, very tropical like~ my brother and I ordered small sized Pho /w our choice of 3 items in it, it came out fast and steaming hot~ Thai basil was really fresh, like they just picked them up from basil plant a minute ago, awesome~ we also ordered 3 skewers of beef Shish Kobab, mid-well interior was excellent and juicy~ we also ordered fried lemon grass chick wings, this is really bland, we had to add white peppers and hot sauce to make the wings eat-worthy, other than that, the wings are pretty juicy and moist~ finally, the reason why we won't come back to this restaurant is because there was a server cleaning the chop sticks on table at that night~ she dropped a chop stick on the floor (by accident), and she glanced at the fallen chop for a sec, and pick it up, and return it to the cleaned tray of chop sticks~ pretending nothing had ever happened~ that was so horrifing because we might be using the dirty chop sticks~ Yak~ triple Yak~ I mean, couldn't she just return the dirty chop stick in the "to be washed" bin and just get over it~ NEVER EVER return it to the tray of cleaned chop sticks~ this happened around 11:10 pm on June 1st, 2010~ Lire plus
