Roofed my new build cottage 8 years ago. Started leaking last summer. Called and emailed them with no response. Tried again this spring, noting interior damage. No response. Had new roofer look at roof for repair. Shingles not properly installed, never “sealed” properly, no ice and water under metal valleys, so when valley cracked in winter, water came straight in. Repair would have been extensive. Complete new roof. Poor workmanship from Advanced and they will not stand behind their work.

As I have only dealt with one client with this similar situation this spring this is not the entire scenario. I responded to all correspondence received and tried to set up appointments to meet with the client at the location and client was not available last summer/fall. In the spring the client contacted us and would not allow us to attend the property, I tried several times. If shingles didn’t seal that is a manufacturer warranty issue not an installation issue. We install ice and water 12” on either side of the valley no question. Valleys do not spontaneously develop cracks, this was probably an ice damming issue or an ice and snow removal issue that created the crack. After 8 years a new roof was not warranted unless it was a warranty issue due to the shingles not sealing. This has no bearing on Advanced Roofing. We have been serving the roofing industry for 30 years and serving Muskoka for 20 years. We would not have been voted the #1 Roofing Company for the Readers choice for the last 11 years consecutively if we were doing things wrong.
