Immediately you stepped into the restaurant, you would feel comfortable and welcome. Even though we don't live near Aberfoyle, but we always tried to come back because of the food and the service.

Salmon plate was excellent. The multi-grain rice with sweet squash sauce made the fish dish interesting. I have mixed feelings with the clam chowder...I liked how it wasn't super creamy like the average clam chowder, but they had pieces of red and green bell peppers that although would liven up something as average as clam chowder, I hate the smell of those things, so they kind of ruined the soup for me. The wine pricing was not good...we got the 1/2l and ended up filling 3 wine glasses. Although paying $22 per 1/2l when it was $7 per glass, is not a big deal, it made us think what was the point of getting the 1/2l. Atmosphere-the rustic decor didn't match the fine dining + high prices menu. Their sign outside says "country dining" and it was far from my expectations of what "country dining" is. That's why my overall score was an 8.

My husband and I have a problem where we go out for dinner and one of us will enjoy the meal and the other one won't. This was the first meal in many months where I can say we both loved our food. My tilapia was tender and juicy and though I was skeptical of the herb crust, it was a delicious complement to the fish. My husband's seafood pasta was also very nice, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. When you walk into the Aberfoyle Mill, you feel as though you're eating in a barn, but when the food comes the presentation is sophisticated and the taste is to die for. I would recommend this restaurant, and have, to anyone looking for a nice night out.

Just visited last week; excellent service; food was fantastic. 2nd time we have been there for dinner, last time 3 years ago, and both times it has been the best meal we have ever had.
That's not to say you can't have bad experiences at restaurants, maybe we've been lucky; we're hoping the Mill will be our Easter tradition.
