My wife and I found this great restaurant by...

My wife and I found this great restaurant by accident one year ago while passing thru Kitchener, and we loved it. This year, we took another couple with us and it was absolutely the same and great. I did not know it was a Czech Restaurant until this year, as I was simply looking for some good home made schnitzel. No matter what nationality, it is great value for the price.

I am of czech descent, so I was really looking forward to eating some authentic food since there are few other restaurants in the region that specialize in this. The schnitzel was tough and tasteless, and the schnitzel toppings were bland and did not help improve the taste of the awful meat. The waitress was rude and rushed, even though there were few other people in the restaurant. The restaurant itself looks dingy and the decor is not only dated, but old. The prices are reasonable but I would not go back.

We must have picked a bad evening as we had a brand new wait staff. This person tried their best however was extremely disappointed in the trainer. She was very rude, very impatience and abrupt. If she worked for me, I would fire her. No one there knew how to made the mixed drinks so ended up with beer. Even tho the food was excellent, would I return,, probably not. The owner/management should concentrate on improving the attitude and training of the staff.

I am a regular at this place. Fantastic food, very affordable prices and a very friendly service. I usually come for lunch but whenever I have friends from out of town visiting, we go to Metro for dinner. Everybody is leaving happy. A very good deal is the schnitzel platter for 2 - you get to try different schnitzel flavours. Make sure you order Czech beer (goes well with the schnitzels). Also, amazing Caesar dressing and best mashed potatoes in town.
