I’ve been to this restaurant couple of times when they relocated at Dixie and Orenda from their original location.
The Brar’s Sweets and Restaurant, now near the corner of Advance and Dixie, is one of favourite Indian restaurant. This place is always busy on weekends, we realized as we went to this restaurant on a Saturday. We had to wait around half an hour or so. Soon as the other customers left, they were quick with clearing the tables. The waiter was quick, cooperative and polite. The waiters were quick with picking up dishes and bringing water to each table.
As the restaurant is a buffet, I tried all different kind of curries, naan (Indian bread) , salad, soups and hot served dosas. Everything was delicious and looked good. The flavours were just perfect, not overly spicy. It was fresh, hot and had enough quantities.
The restaurant had a clean, comfortable, and friendly environment. The bill was brought quickly when we were ready to leave.
I would definitely visit this restaurant again. I felt like I was in Indian heaven.
I recommend this restaurant, even if you are not vegetarian.
It seems as though the quality of food available at Brar Sweets Restaurant has been declining drastically over my past few visits. I have been going to Brar for more than 10 years now, but it seems my long-term patronage will soon be ending for good.
It seems as though food retained from previous days is being utilized, perhaps to cut costs. I recently took out take-out and as soon as I placed the food in the car, my family and I could smell something stale.
When we came home and ate the take-out, one dish tasted beyond edible – my daughter compared it to the after-taste once has after vomiting.
Serving food in this state by a company this established, that too to long-term loyal customers, is highly distressing and unethical.
