We had not been to this restaurant in years, and now I can see why. What happened to the Italian flare of the waiters reading the menu and describing it to you? The food was just OK, I think I could make some of the dishes better at home. The service was terrible and like the other person said...what we can't have more bread? Sorry, but I won't be back.
Most amazing pasta ever. The caeasar dressing was the best. The chocolate mousse cake was so good, not too sweet. The service was great, not too intrusive, very friendly. I love how the kitchen is out front so you can see them cooking. The cooks all seemed to be young but were very professional. The owners answered any questions I had, and very friendly. I love the fact that their pasta is made almost every day, on site and they told me that they have one employee that makes all the pasta from scratch.
This was my first visit to Thunder Bay and this place was a little hard to find.We ordered Lamb,steak and a soup salad for my wife.Best steak I ever had.Tender and had a glaze on both sides that was unique".Lombardy" as it was called on the menu.It was $34 but the garlic mashed potatoes,asparagus tips and vegetables that came with it were all great.My son had the lamb that he sad was very good also.My wife had just a soup and salad and she was very happy with her pickYou get a good quantity also not the usual "all show, no go" at other snobby places.Nice atmosphere ,sick of the chain restaurants then go here for a good dinner!
So good, I went there after hearing reviews from my sister who raved about the pasta. No where else in Thunder Bay can you get fresh pasta, well one place but you have to order 2 days ahead of time. Waiter was friendly and outgoing and very professional.
I recommend them highly, what a gem of a restaurant in my home town.
I love how they don't give you a tonne of bread, I hate how you eat so much bread at a restaurant because it's on the table you have no room left for the actual meal you came for.
Great atmosphere, small and quaint, and they never ask you to leave at the end of the night. I couldn't believe the time, we showed up at 7:00 and didn't get out till 11:00.
I should stop I could go on all day.
Excellent food, waiter picked great choice of wine, the best homemade pasta in the world. Cannot wait to go back. They make great steaks too, but the pasta, so so good.
Head cook went outside and didn't wash his hands when he got back, servers kept walking in and out the door. Had to ask for our wine after like 15 minutes -- it was not busy at all! Our server didn't make us feel like we mattered and paying that amount we should matter. Nothing like Bistro. Owner was very nice, but I think he should review his service staff.
Took some friends from out of town....very dissapointed. Meal was just ok...service was terrible, I think they should either go back to their old ways with the menu being described by the waiter and bring back the old chefs. And what is it that we cant have more bread???? Won't be back...
Giorg's WAS out of this world & a top notch dining experience since day one with a very gifted and talented chef. We craved the food and couldn't wait to go back. Not so anymore. Either they don't care, or "just don't have it". A real shame, as following recipes is not that difficult. We have lost the best restaurant we had. I sure hope they will stop making excuses and turn it around. Thunder Bay deserves yet really lacks quality dining. We need the original Giorg's back.
I'm not sure what all the raving is about. The food was not as good as I cook at home.
Nice atmosphere... waited way too long for our meal, and it's WAY TOO LOUD IN THERE!!!
Calming restaurant, classy environment and exceptional service. I was hooked the first time that I ate at Giorg. I love it so much that I just dont eat at it for special occasions anymore, sometime you just crave the food and have to return. The quality of the food is exellent and the consistency is even greater.

By far the best italian restaurant in town, great service.. I love the bread at the table and they give u the flavored olive oil with the balsamic for dipping instead of butter, i was blown away by that.. also the shrips in a brandy and gorgonzola cream was just amazing, and had the herb crusted rack of lamb.. it was bigger than i expected.. id say biggest rack youll get in town and was just awesome. definatly going back there when i get a chance and would love to work there when i get back from italy

Giorg continually accomplishes the difficult task of fostering a family atmosphere in a high-brow, gourmet way. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, great service, and great company.
I have always loved having dinner at this restaurant. On this occassion in particular there was a reservation made to celebrate an anniversary. Everyone enjoyed everything about the restaurant. People could not stop talking about the food that was served and how professional and friendly the staff were. They made everyone feel like they were guests in their own homes.
It was the perfect choice for the celebration.
