You would have to be pretty impressed with a business to snap it up as soon as it went on the market. That’s exactly what Cathy Lee, fondly known on a first name basis by customers, did when she saw the chance to take over Metro Hound do-it-yourself dog bathers and groomers. “I had been a customer for two years when I took over in 2013,” she says. “It had been in the same community for 13 years and had a loyal clientele and a good reputation.”

Making the transition from the corporate world to running her own business was a little daunting at first, but Cathy had been drawn to the idea for some time and enjoyed getting to meet new, like-minded people through the business. “The common bond we all share is our love of animals,” she says.
