Worst Place in Toronto

-Horrendous service with overpriced food!! - They served frozen pizza and paid $15 for it. I could have spent $15 betterelse where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Slow service and was expected to pay gratuities! The waitress she even added gratuities even though the service was awful and on top of them, when I paid debit, they asked if I wanted to pay additional gratuities!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. IT WAS KNOWN THAT REMY'S WAS A BAD RESTAURANT AND I CONFIRMED IT LAST NIGHT!!

Awful

Food was lousy and overpriced. They are categorized as an Italian restaurant but they have INDIAN food on the menu. Butter chicken with PITA? Shouldn't it be naan? What about the pita appetizer? That's mediterranean! They didn't even put bread and olive oil on the table for us to nibble on. Had the pizza which was awful and overpriced (premade dry crust and sauce.... frozen pizza would tasted better and for 6 bucks!) Ok I'm not expecting Terroni or Libretto quality pizza but at least hand rolled crust and fresh toppings would have been nice. Service was SERIOUSLY lacking! Waited over an hour to order food and then to get our food. Water glasses sat empty for at least an hour before we got a refill. Worst of all, the server included a 15 gratuity on all the bills which we had to pay. I would have given less than 15 % if I could have. The waitress ROBYN made 50-60 dollars in tips alone tonight when she should have made at least half. I will never come here again.

Abusing patrons policy or employee?

After waiting in line for 20 minutes earlier tonight, Thursday, Sept. 1st, at 11:30 pm, with friends waiting inside for me to meet them, I was surprised to see that the bar was clearly not busy, the line did not move at all, as the bouncer repeatedly allowed people in who were not lined up. I approached the bouncer and told him that I was late to meet my friends inside, and since I was a woman alone, could I go in now? He told me I could pay him, or wait in line. We have been frequent patrons of Remy's, but none of my friends will ever return, and we will be sure to post this on every social network we can find. Does the owner of Remy's condone this abuse of his patrons? Is he sharing in the bribes with his employee? In any case, it is irresponsible of the owner or owners of Remy's to continue this discriminatory, abusive practice.

We were in for lunch as part of a business meeting. We asked the server to separate the bills , one for the food and a separate one for the wine. We paid and tipped on the food bill including a tip for the liquor. We did not tip twice on the liquor bill. Our server had the audacity to come back to our table and remind us that we didn't tip on the liquor portion not even realizing she got above and beyond what was gratuitously given to her for the less then acceptable service not to mention the food. Some of us reached Ito our pockets to give the tall reddish colored haired server our change from our pockets including the lint and vowed we will never bring our business there again.

Never again

My party and I dined at this restaurant the night of Nuit Blanche. We arrived at the restaurant at 10pm and were surprised that it was rather empty considering the event that was taking place in the city. Following our drink order, we waited at least 20 minutes for the server (Celeste) to return until we went up to the bar to request that someone come take our order. My friends decided to order a pitcher of beer and noticed that the foam was looking strange. It was thick and did not settle. Not thinking too much of it, we ordered another one and noticed the same thing. We advised our server of the issue and her response was: “Well the first one was like that too.” We opted for another choice of beer which turned out to be fine. At this point, we had waited at least 40 minutes for our food to arrive. The clearly understaffed restaurant began to fill up as should have been anticipated considering that it was Nuit Blanche. The server ended up bringing out the wrong pizza, claiming that she just grabbed the wrong one and would return in just a minute. Fifteen minutes later, she came with the correct pizza. In the meantime, she had offered freshly ground pepper which never came. Following a mediocre dinner, we dared to request the bill, which took at least 15 minutes to come with an automatic gratuity added for 5 people!? Of course she hadn’t bothered to ask if we wanted separate bills and upon request, she said that she was too busy and that we should have asked. I also went on to point out that the bill was actually incorrect as we didn’t order a Cesar or a pint of Stella. I requested to see the manager, which she said may be too busy to see me as he is helping out behind the bar. As she was correcting our bill, I went to the washroom and overheard a conversation about what an awful server two other customers had. Turns out, they were sitting next to us and had the same server. Upon returning to the table, the server advised me that the manager (Tony) was in fact too busy to come see me. I proceeded to the bar to speak with him and it took him over a minute to acknowledge me. I began to explain my disappointment with the service and his only response was how he was simply too busy behind the bar as the restaurant is slammed and how he can’t do anything about it. Not at any point did he apologize. In the meantime, the server had provided us with the new bills, without the automatic gratuity added. As we were ready to leave, one of the ladies from the bathroom approached me to let me know that she had overheard the server saying to her manager that all we want is free things. By the time we left the restaurant it was 12:30am. I called the restaurant the following day to inquire about their policy on “large” groups and the automatic gratuity. As anticipated, it is in fact added for parties of 8 and up! Do yourself a favour and avoid this restaurant at all costs.
