I love Louie's... best panz around
July 22/13 5:30 dinner, place is filthy, flies everywhere. Waited 30 minutes on our food and then were served large pcs of corn on the cob (most seniors don't eat this), we were not advised of the vegetable. Liver was seriously burned, hot turkey was not hot. Baked potato was not cooked. Waitress was offended and inexcusably rude when we advised we didn't like the food and it was not acceptable. She gave us 25% discount for food we did not eat. She was right, we were wrong, we left and we will NEVER return and will advise other's to stay away. Too bad we eat out on average 10 meals per week.
Enormous portions.Everything is big enough to share. The service is just ok as we had to ask occassionally for things. Also, there are sooo many flies in the dining area that it can make it difficult to eat. Take out would be my suggestion. The nachos are layered depending on who is cooking but the large size is literally half the size of the table.. The burger was thick, loaded and tasty. They brand the name of their restaurant on the patty. Chicken fingers were big but average tasting.
The waitress made a mistake on my breakfast order and was visibly upset that I dared to tell her. She said that she had written it down and that is what I ordered!! Why would I order something I didn't like!! She replaced it but not willingly and acted like I was at fault. Obviously she had not written it down correctly. She was very rude. The breakfast was very greasy, particularly the home fries. I will never go back there even though since Louies first opened my family and friends have gone there on and off. Good-bye, Louies.
Friends and family have raved to me forever about this place and their panzerottis. So I took my sister and niece for lunch. The place was not very busy and there were two waitresses on duty who didn't seem to care that we waited for 15 minutes for someone to take our order. We ordered a panzerotti, chicken parmesan and a kids meal. The meals took over half an hour! In total, we spent an hour and a half at this restaurant which is ridiculous for lunch. Not even the food could redeem this place. The meals were terrible. The portions were huge but the panzerotti was nothing special and the chicken parm was terrible. It was a very thin layer of dry chicken between an incredibly excessive amount of breading. It tasted so bad and was so thick with coating that I picked all the chicken out of it. The pasta that came with it was overcooked and bland. The only logical reason I can think of why people like this place is the huge portions. I won't be back.
The managers are very rude to the wait staff.. I over heard a manager having a conversation with a staff and they were very rude, then they came to our table and acted like a completely different person. The food portions are getting smaller and have heard a lot of complaints of food either not being hot enough or having a hair in the food. Grosse.I used to go a lot but id much rather go somewhere else in town where the managers respect the workers and where the food is good!
My wife and I have had 3 dates at Louie's now, each experience very mediocre but our fascination with the always-packed parking lot drawing us back through sheer curiosity. Atmosphere: We've been 3 times, once for breakfast and the other 2 times for dinner. The atmosphere is pretty cool, the first drink comes by the bottle and I get free popcorn, and the place is always bustling with activity. Not somewhere where I want to go for romantic, but somewhere I could see bringing a lot of people and not fearing to be disruptive. The wait staff are pretty friendly, they all seem to adore the place and seem to have good hearts, the service time is somewhat average. Menu: Overcrowded - too many items on the menu makes me suspicious on quality, since there's no way a place can specialize on so many dishes. We decided to stick to recommendations and specialties to play it safe. Portions: - Very large portions. Like the difference between a romantic date and family affair, this is one I prefer for the family affair. No one likes carrying around left overs after a date, but if you have a bunch of kids and are quantity (cost) conscious then the leftovers can mean saving making a lunch the next day. Food: Below average....reminds me of university years when I ate chef-boy-r-d and other canned not-so-goods. For a family affair this would be barely acceptable, on a date with my wife this is terrible, on a first date with a girl this would be disastrous, On a date with some girl I never want to see again or some other contrived scenario where I hope to repel the other person - this food could be qualified for injection. SUMMARY LIKES:: - When I order a diet coke, the first one I get is by the bottle, then I get refills - this is awesome. - Popcorn at the door...this is as much a treat as going to Jumbo video. SUMMARY DISLIKES: - Food We're convinced that the only reason the parking lot is full, is due to portion sizes and nostalgia. If you didn't grow up in Ingersoll being told it's great food, you won't understand why the locals love it. It is worth noting, that we 'may' return for drinks and popcorn...but not the menu
iv been going to louis for a while but the last few times iv over heard rude comments coming from higher up managers and owners to the waitresses. These people are what keep your restaurant going...the least you could do is show them a little respect and politness.
Nice to see I'm not the only one that now HATES Loui's. I can't believe that they aren't worried about 1 customer. We add up.
Never! I took my wife out the other night for a date and ordered two meals and a couple of cocktails. As normal the meals looked great except that the nachos I had ordered were freezing cold in the center. Although the cheese on top was melted and it looked cooked it was cold, and I don't mean just warm I mean cold as if the vegetables were frozen. When I finally caught the eye of the waitress she came over and I explained and told her to put a finger on the food to feel just how cold it was, she refused but offered to reheat it. Well one meal had been eaten already and I ordered a meal that should have been fresh and hot not reheated so I declined and said that I didn't want it now. When my bill came the waiter apologized that he couldn't remove the order from the bill because the owner said they had offered to reheat the meal for me and I refused. Well apparently the customer is not always right, but this customer won't be back. I can't believe after eating at that establishment for four years, having many large family celebrations and the tradition of wearing my uniform there on Remembrance Day the owner thought $14 was a good trade off.
I wanted to try someplace new for Pizza and looked up Louie's online. When I called I told them it was my first time ordering and do they deliver to Woodstock? They said "Yes". I placed my order and was told it would be there within the hour. No big deal that it came an hour and a half later. They had other orders coming to Woodstock so of course they would want to do them all together. When it got to the door I was signing for the pizza and saw that my $25 order was $45! "Oh a $20 delivery charge, they are supposed to tell you that on the phone." I called back and talked to the manager Justin because the pizza was cold and after paying the extra $20 you would think that I would get it on time and hot and his response was "I guess you should have asked how much....I don't care that it's cold......You are only one customer, I don't care if you come back." I was floored! Who cares about the $20... who talks to a customer like that on the phone? I have always supported our local businesses until tonight.
We will be back once a week for sure!! I was blown away by the size of the portions served. the staff is so friendly and great sense of humour...our waitress flirted with our 4 yr old, not even batting an eye when he winked at her:) She did turn pink when he said he was going to marry her though...lol. The food was incredible! Sooooo good...everyone was stuffed and we still managed to take enough home with us for another meal. It's a cool place to eat...so much to look at and I love people watching...the place really hops at times. I can't get over how incredible the staff is there....smiles, laughter, jokes...but very attentavie as well...very accomadating...best place I've ever eaten.
People seem to think food is good. I wouldn't know. We waited and waited and waited for service which didn't come. Finally walked out. Disgusting example of customer service.
The only way to describe Louies is good food with Huge portions. We have been a few times but only on nights when we are really hungry (and we still end of bringing home a take out container). The food is your general restaurant fair except much larger. The other positive is that the menu offers about three times more selection than most other restaurants. If you are looking to feed a hungry and/or picky family for a good price this is the place. The decor is something to be desired but hey, lets be honest, nobody is coming here for the ambiance.
It took over a 45 minutes to get our food. One dish was pickerel which was suppose to pan fried, turns out it was deep fried, taste was terrible, The food was poor quality for the dollar amount, you get big portions but if it ain't tasty, not worth it. We will not be returning or recommending.
This is one of those restaurants you have to tell your friends about! Absolutely huge portions at a reasonable price. Anyone leaving hungry? It's their fault...Not fancy, just filling! Cheryl (morning staff) is a dear! But, be warned - in this small town it gets busy and lineups are common Friday and Saturday nights...
Little hidden jem in Ingersoll. We were a party of 7 who slipped out for a quick bite to eat. The specials of the day were a 1/2 rack of ribs for $9.99 and $0.39 wings. What they consider a 1/2 rack is 3/4 rack at most places. The ribs had a nice smoky flavour to it and was fall off the bone. Add the mesquite sauce and it was really good. Saw a big honking panzarotti go by. I was kicking myself for not ordering it. It looked and smelled really good.
I have been going to this rest. since it opened.Yes we try other rest. BUT we still come back to LOUIE'S for it is still the best and so will YOU. FOOD = 5 star - big serving's - wide selection of dishes. Have tried a lot of them. SERVER'S = great, helpful they go out of thier way for you !!
The service and food was great, the only thing that shocked me was the fellow dinners, rude and totally racisit. I know the owners and managers there had they heard some of the words would have been really angry, remember your in a family resteraunt please, i nor my children or grandchildren should never have to ear that kind of language
